What Are the Tooth Extraction Aftercare Instructions?

After getting a tooth pulled, we will provide you with instructions for aftercare. A blood clot will form at the extraction site; you cannot do anything that might dislodge the clot, such as drinking through a straw or smoking. Avoid any strenuous activity for a day or two after your tooth removal. If you lie down, elevate your head. Don’t rinse for 24 hours after having your extraction, but afterward, your dentist may suggest rinsing with warm salt water.

What’s the Normal Tooth Extraction Healing Time?

Normally, the extraction site heals within seven days if you had a dental extraction. Molar extractions and surgical extractions take three to four weeks to heal.
