If you have insurance coverage that we accept, please bring your information with you; your plan may cover a portion of our tooth extraction fee. You should rest as much as possible the first day after an extraction. Lie with your head elevated. Avoid smoking, drinking from a straw or any other activity that may dislodge the blood clot forming at the extraction site. Your dentist may suggest over-the-counter pain relievers to ease any discomfort.

How Fast Will My Extraction Site Heal?

You should take it easy for a day after a dental extraction. Complete dental tooth extraction healing takes about one week. If you had a molar extracted or a surgical extraction, your dentist or oral surgeon will tell you how long it will take for the site to heal.
